Low Pressure, is still in the deep end of downbeat after releasing dub-infused records for 18. years. Recording and performing, from 2000 till 2008, as solo artist, EMO, he was released on respected club labels like, Liquid Sound Lounge (US), Stereo Deluxe (DE), Audiopharm (DE) and BBE (UK), and co- worked with solid names from the hiphop and downbeat scene, such as dj Vadim, Boozoo Bajou, Natasja, Djosos Krost, The Strike Boys, Les Gammas and more.
For years the name, Low Pressure, had been his second alias, as well as name for a club-night that he was running with a dj-friend. After teaming up in the producer duo von Daler & Low Pressure, around 2007, he started using Low Pressure as his main producer name. Recently he founded the psychedelic hiphop collective, Jiyu, that is a study in harmony in chaos, where Low Pressure is still dreamy and at awe, and draws a direct line back to his earlier works.
Though Low Pressure leaves no traces of Jamaican dub tradition on his new EP, “Nebula”, he still Manoeuvres in a modern sound of dub, with a debt of moods and methods, loaned from a broad spectra of electronica, neosoul, ambience, d’n’b and jazz, layered in a collage, that is out of the same corner, of the musical universe, as some of his remixes, that can be heared on the EP “Stella Polaris Presents Small Secrets, Vol. 4 (Low Pressure Remixes)” The concentration of dark matter is massive, the stars are in a distant haze, and like dreams that doesn’t follow a logic path, Low Pressure wish to leave the listener right there, in the middle of his nebula dreamland, not lost, but maybe questioning, and hopefully listening... not for what might be expected to hear, but for what the music unfolds.
The female guest vocalists, Bapsz and Kinck, are featuring on three of the ep’s five tracks, and Low Pressure, who produces and plays all instruments, has tracked his own vocal on the two of them.
